We are so thankful for our first family portrait, taken by Grandpa Phil, complete with our fourteen year old lab, Dreemer.  

Jonas Benjamin Seyfried enjoyed his first Thanksgiving as a three week old at the Haynes Family and Stuart Family gatherings.

And here he is napping with Mommy and Daddy on his two week old birthday…

This is our little man, napping on the one week anniversary of his birth.  The lamb behind him was in my crib when I came home from the hospital too…it still plays a beautiful, if out of tune from age, Brahms’ Lullaby, that he seems to enjoy just as much as I did.

Here are pictures of a few firsts for Jonas:  his first bath and his first ride in the Baby Bjorn.  

Words cannot describe the emotion of taking our little baby boy home from the hospital…

At last…Daddy holding Jonas a few minutes after his birth in the labor and delivery room, and Mommy holding Jonas a few hours after his birth in the postpartum room (look at his little praying hands…and we agree…”Thank you, God, that we are finally all here together…safe and sound and healthy…warm and cozy”). What a blessing that we do not ever want to take for granted!!!

And thank you to our unforgettably encouraging and supportive labor and delivery team:  my dear husband, Tom; the midwife, Emma; the labor and delivery nurse, Christina; and Julie, Emma’s intern.   

Thank you to our strong and compassionate primary midwife, Linda Hughlett, of the Vanderbilt Nurse Midwives (www.vanderbiltnursemidwives.org), who graciously walked with us throughout our pregnancy journey.

On Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 12:21 pm, we welcomed our firstborn son, Jonas Benjamin Seyfried, to the world.  He weighed in at 7 lbs. 1.2 oz., measuring 19 3/4 in. And we are in love…
