At twenty-two months, Roman is: saying things like “not working…need battery”, “wash hands”, “plate sink”, “too dark”, and more; singing songs like crazy…ABCs, Five Silly Monkeys, and Brahm’s Lullaby; dancing to music; taking his plate to the sink after meals; recognizing some of his letters; identifying his shapes; matching up book titles from sound to sight (I’ll ask him what he wants to read and he’ll say “Boo Boo” or “Ten Tiny Tickles” and go and find them on the book shelf); and telling jokes (Roman: “Knock knock.” Mommy: “Who’s there?” Roman: “Bamouse.” Mommy: “Bamouse who?” Roman: “Banana.”).
