Spring Break: Day 3, 4, and 5…

We went to Red River Gorge, Kentucky for the latter half of Spring Break. We stayed in a log cabin in the woods (loved the view and the hot tub on the deck), took a sky lift up to a natural bridge (I was scared out of my mind, but all of the boys…including Tom…loved it), hiked three miles (I’m hoping for more family hikes in the future…however, Roman lost his mind about a 1.5 miles in), and spent time just relaxing (we watched the first episode of the Mandalorian and Raya and the Last Dragon with the boys). It was really nice…I’m so grateful we were able to get away.

End of the Year Boating Celebration…

We went out on the boat this afternoon for a little end of the year/beginning of summer celebration!

We took Petra, which is always fun because she’s just so in her element when she’s in the great outdoors with her people. When we stop off at wooded islands to explore, she’ll grab a stick and drop it at our feet and jump up and down until we throw it out in the water…then she’ll sprint out and swim to catch it and bring it back to shore, shake all the water off, and do it all over again.

Tom and the boys love cliff jumping. Petra was whining so much in the boat when she saw that the boys were swimming over to the cliffs…she just wanted to be with them. So, Tom put her in the water, and she swam all the way over…I think she would’ve jumped in with them, if they had gotten the timing right. She eventually kind of misstepped off of one of the lower rocks, landed in the water, and swam back to the boat. Sweet girl. What a great dog!

We also loved taking the Big Mabel out for a spin. Jonas and Xander could do it all day long, going super fast over bumpy waters, doing continual donuts, and/or hanging off the side. Roman and I, on the other hand, get a little nervous/nauseous and prefer to stick to the basics (sit down, hold on for dear life, and go as slow as possible)…so we make a good team. We’re looking to more summer fun on the boat…it was a great way to end the school ring in the summer this afternoon.

Workout Buddy…

Petra is my workout buddy without fail…she’s always right beside me if I’m doing a morning, afternoon, or evening workout at home. Sweet girl. I love her so much…she’s such a precious spirit and friend. (I think she can tell that I’m having a hard time sometimes with the workouts and need the moral support…haha!!!)

I started doing Beachbody workouts at home back in September and am LOVING them! My favorite programs that I’ve tried so far are PiYo, Liift 4, and 3 Week Yoga Retreat. I mix three days of running up with three or four days of strength training/yoga. I’ve never felt better. I’m so grateful.

Petra’s 10th Birthday…

We celebrated Petra’s 10th birthday (Cinco de Mayo) with her BFFs, my sister Jeanne and her dog Riley. Jeanne takes care of Petra whenever we go out of town, and Petra loves her SO much that every time she comes over…not only does Petra do crazy dog and run laps around the house she also tries to get in Jeanne’s car when she leaves. HaHa! Happy 10th birthday to best dog ever…we love you, Petra!!!

Fall Break: Camping

We were so blessed to be able to go camping over Fall Break!!! It was definitely on the chilly side but so worth it to just get away from it all and be out in nature together…what a great way to ring in the fall season.

We are so grateful to one of Tom’s good friends from the Nolensville Volunteer Fire Department, Marc Fielder, who graciously lets us camp out on his land a few times a year.

We loved hiking, collecting and chopping firewood, drinking hot chocolate, eating s’mores, and hanging out around the fire.

Spring Break: Camping…

We got to go camping over spring break which was so much fun!!! On Thursday, we got settled in, walked down the dry creek bed, gathered wood for a fire, filtered water from the creek, checked out Tom’s survival gear, put together a peach cobbler (in the Dutch oven Grandma and Grandpa gave us for Christmas), grilled hot dogs, ate a yummy dinner and dessert, sat around the campfire, and tucked in for the night. On Friday, we ate breakfast, went exploring, hung out around the pond (Petra swam for the very first time in her life!), and headed home.

Yay for camping with all of the Seyfried boys!!!

Camp Beans…

Petra’s favorite place to be when we are out of town is at Camp Beans!!! She stays with my sister, Jeanne, and her dog, Riley. They have so much fun that when she comes back home…she mopes (she misses Jeanne and Riley so much) and she sleeps A LOT (she’s exhausted from playing with Riley). Thanks so much to Jeanne for always taking such good care of Petra for us!!!

Audrey’s Visit…

Audrey visited with us this week, and we absolutely loved having her…she is such a blessing. We played Pokemon Go, swam in the pool, went to the downtown sprayground, ate a sweet treat at Rita’s, had a pajama day, did some antiquing in Nolensville, etched and made journals, went bowling, played volleyball, and floated down a lazy river. We’re already looking forward to our time together next year.
